If you purchased Cutter or Repel brand citronella candles or foggers you can file a claim for misleading packaging. The settlement will provide payments to customers who purchased qualified products. Retail stores included Lowes, Home Depot, Walmart, Target, and many independent hardware stores.

Brands include Black Flag, Do It Best, Eliminator, Green Thumb, Hot Shot, No Pest, Real-Kill, Rid-A-Bug, Spectracide, and TAT brands. This settlement includes any purchases made between May 4, 2015 and June 7, 2021.

With proof of purchase you can submit a claim for refunds for up to 6 products. Without proof you can submit settlement claims for two products up to $7 each for a maximum of $14.

About Cutter and Repel Insect Control Products

Cutter and Repel brands treat your yard with an all-purpose insect control for use against mosquitoes and other insects to create a barrier against bugs.

Repellent, candles and sprays are used around your deck or outdoor gathering area to create a zone of protection. Using a product like Cutter CitroGuard Candles with citronella oil to repel mosquitoes and other flying bugs. Products also include personal insect repellents for example, using DEET, Picaridin or oil of lemon eucalyptus as an effective way to minimize mosquito bites.

What Is The Lawsuit About?

The lawsuit claims that United Industries Corporation deceptively marketed the efficacy of the Covered Candles and Covered Foggers. As part of the Settlement, the Defendant has agreed to change their labeling practices and provide payments to customers. Defendant denies any wrongdoing.
You may be included in the settlement if you purchased covered candles and/or foggers in the United States for personal use between May 4, 2015 and June 7, 2021.

You are included in this settlement as a Class Member if you live in the United States and purchased any of the covered products for personal use only from May 4, 2015 through June 7, 2021.

With proof of purchase you can get a refund for up to 6 products. Without proof you can submit up to two refunds for up to $14. You must submit a claim to get a monetary benefit from this settlement. Submit claim forms online or postmarked by September 20, 2021.
