Lowes curbside pickup is available at all locations. Place your order online and you can pick it up within 3 hours. Either in store or curbside pickup. Lowes has been doing online orders for years before Covid forced people into different states of lockdown and social distancing. Now when you order online, you have the option of having your products brought to your car with curbside pickup.
What Is Lowes Curbside Pickup?
Curbside pickup is a service which allows customers to pickup their Lowes order at their vehicle, rather than having to go inside the store or have the item shipped to their home. It really is just a variation on the FREE STORE PICKUP option that has been available for a few years now.
If you have a smartphone, download the Lowes app as it makes curbside pickup it a little easier with a few taps on your device and no need to print out emails. You can download the Lowes mobile app from their website: Lowes Mobile App.
If you don’t need another app cluttering up your phone, just have the confirmation email sent to your phone. Or simply print it out from home.
Remember, when you order online, Lowes only keeps your order available for 7 days. If you haven’t picked it up in 7 days, its will be refunded on your card. Using your MyLowes card when ordering will also keep track of all your purchases.
Lowes Free Store Pickup VS Lowes Curbside
Here’s how Lowes Curbside Pickup Works.
With free store pickup, you order online and select free store pickup and wait for a Ready For Pickup email confirmation. When you get to the store you head to the customer service desk. Show your photo ID, like a state driver’s license, military or state ID and your confirmation email. A Lowes associate will then get your order for you.
For curbside pickup, when ordering online, you will still select FREE Store Pickup and wait for your Ready For Pickup confirmation email. Then head to the store, and park in one of the designated store pick up or curbside pickup spaces. These spaces are usually pretty close to the main entrance of the store with bright blue signs. Call the number on the sign and an associate will bring the item to your vehicle.
Will It Last After The Corona Virus Pandemic
During the pandemic, people are not too comfortable coming into any store. They have to wear masks, come in contact with dozens of people and risk getting sick. If they have the option to pick it up at the curbside, many customers will.
The current global health crisis is affecting everyone. No matter where you work or what industry you work in, you are feeling the effects. Curbside pickup offers you the opportunity to protect yourself and other customers who are unable or unwilling to come inside the store.
But will it last? Retail will never be exactly the same as it was before coronavirus. It has forced many stores to rethink their strategies in order to continue business.
Curbside pickup protects customers and employees because it limits person-to-person contact. I still think that going into the store to get your items is quicker than curbside. But going inside during a pandemic is taking on more risks. It’s very likely the pandemic will have a long-lasting influence on consumer shopping behavior.
Retail will eventually go back to some sort of “normal”. While some growth in curbside pickup will remain, most stores expanded pick up options because they had no other choice.
In the future, some stores may even expand on curbside pickup, but many others will simply cut back on the option or start charging a fee to have product brought to your vehicle. Curbside pickup services have taken on a new importance and popularity during the pandemic. What it will eventually evolve into is not at all clear.
